A Visit to the Dentist Could Change Your Love Life

Most people don’t consider dentistry a sexy profession. It’s something that involves another person digging in your mouth to clean it. What you may not know is that a visit to the dentist could change your love life forever.

Whether you’re young and single or old and married, it’s of the utmost importance to maintain a healthy set of teeth. According to a survey by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, over half of the adult population in the U.S. over age 50 agree that a smile is the one feature that stays the most attractive as we age. What that statistic tells you is that people pay close attention to your smile.

Visiting the dentist can seem like a chore to many, we all get busy in life which can lead to lackluster oral care. If you’re still in the dating market, you may go on a lot of first dates that can go wrong for any number of reasons. One reason that you want to avoid is that of dental care. 96% of adults believe an attractive smile makes a person more appealing to members of the opposite sex. That is so large of a percentage it’s hard to avoid, so if you keep striking out dating it may be time for a visit to your local dentist office.

If you feel secure in the love department then visiting the dentist may not feel like a top priority. However, that shouldn’t be the case. Socially, dentistry should be considered a much hotter market. According to an AACD survey, nearly all adults (99.7%) surveyed believe a healthy smile is important in society. So the same advice that young people in their 20s should listen to about oral care applies to almost everyone. Whether you’re going into an interview for a new job or just trying to make some friends, the way you present your teeth is paramount.

So in summary, it’s way more important to take care of your teeth than you may think. If it has been a long time since your last visit, take the time and call your local dentist offices and book an appointment. As people grow older, it’s difficult to make personal care a priority when life moves so fast, however, a quick visit to the dentist could lead to a positive change in your life.
