The picture to perfect health is a multifaceted picture, with many components. While many think it’s only about exercise, without proper nutrition, adequate sleep, and other factors, your body is missing the key things it needs to function at its optimal state.
Here are the three keys to optimal health:
- Exercise
Moving your body is extremely important to helping it maintain its optimal health. For starters, try 30 minutes of moderate exercise each day. While cardio is often lauded as the best kind of workout, a mix of cardio and strength training, also known as high intensity interval training (HIIT) does the most fat burning for your body. HIIT workouts build lean muscle and burn fat — and what’s better, the muscle you build will help you to burn fat even while you’re not working out! - Sleep
When we sleep, our body repairs itself, repairing the wear and tear from long workouts and 8-hour workdays, and gives us the energy we need each day. Because sleep is so important, you should be getting a minimum of 7 hours per day. If you’re an athlete undergoing intense training, you should consider even getting up to 9 hours of sleep per night. Getting more sleep makes your metabolism go faster, to boot. - Proper Nutrition
You body is a temple, and you must provide it with the correct offerings, morning, afternoon, and evening. Athletes should try to have 5-6 small meals per day, packed with ample protein and complex carbohydrates to give your body the fuel it needs. Drink at least six glasses of water per day, and be sure to mind your pre, inter, and post-workout nutrition. For an extra boost, try fat burning supplements, and defcon pre workout powders to help your body gear up and perform at its optimal state. For post workouts, eat a lot of protein to help feed your muscles, promoting fast recovery. For extra recovery, try post workout muscle recovery supplements. Post workout muscle recovery supplements give your body the necessary amino proteins required to repair strained muscles and to help continue burning excess body fat.
